Operations Foreman (OK)
Position Summary
The Operations Pipeline Foreman is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of daily field operations for natural gas pipelines and compressor facilities, including the supervision of assigned personnel and contractors. This position reports to the Pipeline Superintendent.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of pipeline and/or natural gas facility operations experience, including supervisory or lead experience
- Ability to speak fluent English and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience with natural gas compression, engines, or rotating equipment required
- Knowledge of industry codes/standards, permitting, and safety requirements (CFR 192, OSHA, etc.)
- Computer knowledge, with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to read and interpret facility drawings and analyze various data and reports
- Possess technical skills to start up and troubleshoot facility processes
- Possess excellent supervisory skills
- Must be highly motivated, self-driven, and require minimal direct supervision.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to squat, bend, and lift various items up to 60 lbs. for reasonable periods of time
- Working knowledge of One-Call / KORWEB systems and line locating requirements
Responsibilities
- Exhibit a positive attitude and promote a positive work environment
- Promote company policies and procedures to ensure safe working conditions
- Satisfactorily participate in Drug & Alcohol testing programs
- Utilize SCADA systems to monitor operations and coordinate troubleshooting activities
- Interface effectively with many internal and external customers, regulatory officials, and demonstrate strong communication skills
- Supervise and manage company and third-party personnel (facility operators, pipeline operators, contractors, and service providers)
- Support achievement of compressor station run-time and pipeline pressure requirements
- Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures and support environmental, federal, state, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Maximize quality and efficiency in the operation and maintenance of pipelines, pigging, treating, and compression while minimizing costs Operations Pipeline Foreman
- Support company goals within established budgets and staffing plans
- Plan and organize daily workloads and staff assignments, review progress, and recommend changes in priorities and schedules as needed
- Approve time and manage overtime in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain the appearance and housekeeping in facilities
- Understand and properly enact emergency response plans, and coordinate with Safety and Environmental groups
- Must have the ability to respond promptly to any emergency
- Operation & maintenance of pipeline system, but not limited to pigging, ROW maintenance, corrosion control, road crossings & inspections
- Must maintain DOT OQs in accordance with company & industry standards
- Covers scheduled on-call on a rotational basis with direct reports.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction for pre-job PSSRs, JSAs, and other work planning
- Assist in the training of Pipeline/Facility Operators
- Ensure utilization of all required company technologies
