I&E Technician

Position Summary

I&E Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, calibration, and testing of plant instrumentation. I&E Technician will also support troubleshooting efforts and programming modifications of plant control systems at the Iron Horse Processing Plant near Amber, OK.


  • Possess advanced knowledge in the operation of all types of electrical systems (up to 25kV) and measurement, and instrumentation equipment
  • 5 years of experience as an I&E Technician in a processing plant environment
  • Demonstrated I&E knowledge and skills, as may be demonstrated through appropriate testing
  • Proficient with basic computer skills and Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in Allen Bradley PLC programming and able to make programming changes with minimal supervision
  • Basic knowledge in Wonder Ware operations and programming
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repair of all types of equipment pertaining to the I&E trade (i.e., 4-20 mA signal and gas quality equipment)
  • Candidate must live within a 50-mile commuting radius
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, and a good driving record
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and remain subject to random drug testing
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Associates degree in instrumentation, controls or electrical technology
  • Accreditation of an Instrument or Electrical Technician program


  • Promote company policies and procedures to ensure safe and professional work conditions
  • Troubleshoot problems and perform maintenance on control systems and complex equipment associated with generators, dehydration, control stations and gas chromatography.
  • Run conduit, pull wire, and participate in installing I&E components
  • Read and update plant electrical diagrams
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain end devices (e.g., alarms, monitoring devces, shutdown systems, process controls, substation and branch feeders, VFDs, air/fuel controllers, etc.)
  • Perform maintenance of control system, including updating screens, PID loop tuning, programming changes, and addition/removal of I/O
  • Calibrate, maintain and repair analog & digital equipment, pneumatic & hydraulic control, and indicating devices
  • Analyze performance of equipment and participate in the automation of facilities
  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise I&E contract personnel
  • Participate in facility process hazard analysis (PHA) processes
